What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is beneficial when trauma, disease, intellectual disabilities, and other impairments make it challenging for you to do everyday tasks and activities you enjoy. When you are experiencing a functional deficit, our occupational therapists (OT) help you regain your independence through problem solving, the use of adaptive equipment and conditioning to gain strength and coordination.

When to See an Occupational Therapist

If you’re having trouble independently bathing, dressing, doing laundry or office work, and other everyday tasks or activities, our occupational therapists can help. Certain conditions can cause pain as well as make motor skills or hand-eye coordination difficult. If you have any of the following conditions or if you struggle to do basic tasks due to other impairments, ask your doctor if occupational therapy could help you.
